To "Fix" this (meaning I don't have root cause but agree it seems 
to only occur when you've recently undocked), open Device Manager, 
Expand out Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then disable and 
re-enable the first listed Generic USB Hub (Port_#0001.Hub_#0002).
